(AP Photo/Eric Thayer) EL SEGUNDO, Calif. (AP) — J.K. Dobbins will miss at least the next four games after the Los Angeles Chargers placed the running back on injured reserve Saturday. The team also placed safety Alohi Gilman on injured reserve and signed safety Tony Jefferson to the active roster. Dobbins sprained the MCL in his left knee late in the first half of the Chargers’ 30-23 loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Monday. Dobbins is fourth in the AFC in rushing with 766 yards and averages 4.8 yards per carry, third highest among AFC running backs with at least 100 carries. He has been considered among the candidates for AP Comeback Player of the Year after suffering a torn Achilles tendon in last season’s opener. Gus Edwards will be counted on to be the lead back in Dobbins' absence. Edwards missed four games during the middle of the season because of an ankle injury and has 25 carries for 93 yards in three games since returning to the lineup. The Chargers are 7-4 and hold the sixth seed in the AFC going into Sunday's game at NFC South leader Atlanta (6-5). Los Angeles is at Kansas City (10-1) in a prime-time game on Dec. 8, hosts Tampa Bay (5-6) on Dec. 15 and Denver (7-5) on Dec. 19. Gilman suffered a hamstring injury in the loss to the Ravens. He has 47 tackles, which is fifth on the team, along with one sack. Los Angeles also elevated cornerback Dicaprio Bootle and linebacker Jeremiah Jean-Baptiste from the practice squad for Sunday’s game. ___ AP NFL: https://apnews.com/hub/nfl The Associated Press See a typo/mistake? The billing of London-born former Chelsea boss Hayes against England’s Dutch manager Sarina Wiegman – arguably the best two bosses in the women’s game – had generated more buzz in the build-up than the players on the pitch, despite it being a rare encounter between the two top-ranked sides in the world. Hayes enjoyed her return to familiar shores but felt the US lacked the “killer piece” after they looked the likelier side to make the breakthrough. Elite meeting of the minds 🌟 pic.twitter.com/R4d8EArqTp — U.S. Women's National Soccer Team (@USWNT) November 30, 2024 Asked what was going through her mind during the national anthem, Hayes said: “I was definitely mouthing (it), and Naomi (Girma) and Lynn (Williams) could see that I was struggling with where to be and all that. “I got to the end of the anthems and I thought, ‘that’s so ridiculous. I’m proud to be English and I’m proud of our national anthem, and I’m also really proud to coach America’. “Two things are possible all at once. I don’t want to fuel a nationalist debate around it. The realities are both countries are really dear to me for lots of reasons, and I’m really proud to represent both of them.” The Lionesses did not register a shot on target in the first half but grew into the game in the second. US captain Lindsey Horan had the ball in the net after the break but the flag was up, while Hayes’ side had a penalty award for a handball reversed after a VAR check determined substitute Yazmeen Ryan’s shot hit Alex Greenwood’s chest. Hayes, who left Chelsea after 12 trophy-packed years this summer, said: “I’ve been privileged to coach a lot of top-level games, including here, so there’s a familiarity to being here for me. “It’s not new to me, and because of that there was a whole sense of I’m coming back to a place I know. I have a really healthy perspective, and I want to have a really healthy perspective on my profession. “I give everything I possibly can for a team that I really, really enjoy coaching, and I thrive, not just under pressure, but I like these opportunities, I like being in these situations. They bring out the best in me. “You’ve got two top teams now, Sarina is an amazing coach, I thought it was a good tactical match-up, and I just enjoy coaching a high-level football match, to be honest with you. I don’t think too much about it.” Hayes had travelled to London without her entire Olympic gold medal-winning ‘Triple Espresso’ forward line of Trinity Rodman, Mallory Swanson and Sophia Smith, all nursing niggling injuries. Before the match, the 48-year-old was spotted chatting with Wiegman and her US men’s counterpart, fellow ex-Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino, who was also in attendance. England were also missing a number of key attackers for the friendly including Lauren Hemp, Lauren James and Ella Toone, all ruled out with injury. "This shows where we are at and we need to keep improving. It is November now. This is good but we want to be better again. We have to be better again." 👊 Reaction from the boss ⬇️ — Lionesses (@Lionesses) November 30, 2024 Wiegman brushed aside suggestions from some pundits that her side were content to settle for a draw. She said: “I think we were really defending as a team, very strong. We got momentum in the second half, we did better, and of course both teams went for the win. “So many things happened in this game, also in front of the goal, so I don’t think it was boring. “We wanted to go for the win, but it was such a high-intensity game, you have to deal with a very good opponent, so you can’t just say, ‘Now we’re going to go and score that goal’. “We tried, of course, to do that. We didn’t slow down to keep it 0-0. I think that was just how the game went.”

Silex Systems Limited (OTCMKTS:SILXY) Short Interest Down 33.3% in DecemberJournalist Verónica Linares took to her social networks to report an unfortunate incident that occurred last Saturday, December 28. In a video shared on her official Instagram account, the host of ‘América Noticias’ narrated how she was the victim of her bank card being stolen while she was enjoying a family outing with her husband and children at a restaurant. A detail that caught attention was that the criminals left both his wallet and his purse intact, taking only his credit card, which generated concern and alert among his followers. In the video, Veronica Linares He explained that the incident occurred so subtly that he did not realize it at the time, describing it as “the typical, I fell,” referring to the cunning with which this type of criminals usually operate. The journalist took advantage of her platform to warn her followers about the importance of being attentive and taking additional precautions in public spaces. Verónica Linares recounts the theft of her card in a restaurant In her Instagram video, Verónica Linares expressed her frustration at having suffered this assault. According to what he said, this time he did something he had never done before: he neglected himself for a few moments. “Well, I wanted to tell you that they robbed me. I feel very foolish because how many times have I told you not to be careless, but well, I was careless for a little while. I was in a restaurant, with my children, and I never leave my wallet hanging, I always put it in front of me so I can see it,” he said. In his story, Veronica Linares He described in detail how he realized that his card had disappeared, revealing the sophistication with which those responsible for the theft acted. The journalist mentioned that initially she thought it was all a simple oversight, but when she got home and searched other belongings, she confirmed that the card was not in her possession. “When I wanted to pay, I no longer had the card. My husband paid and I thought I had dropped it, because otherwise they would steal your entire wallet or steal your entire wallet. So, when I went home and searched my other wallet, my card wasn’t there, so I hadn’t dropped it, it wasn’t in the car either...”, he concluded. Jimmy Carter’s critics turned his name into a synonym for weakness over the Iranian hostage crisis. But by any measure, he also scored major achievements on the world stage through his mix of moralism and painstaking personal diplomacy. The 39th president of the United States, who died at age 100 on Sunday, transformed the Middle East by brokering the Camp David Accords, which established an enduring and once inconceivable peace between Israel and its most serious adversary at the time, Egypt. Carter again brought a sense of righteousness and nearly obsessive attention to detail to negotiate the return of the Panama Canal to Panama, defying furor by US conservatives. In two decisions with lengthy reverberations, Carter followed up on Richard Nixon’s opening by recognizing communist China, and he began arming jihadists in Afghanistan who fought back against the Soviet Union, which would collapse a decade later. But Carter was crushed by Ronald Reagan in the 1980 election in no small part due to foreign affairs after religious hard-liners toppled Iran’s shah and seized US embassy staff, whose 444 days in captivity were broadcast nightly on US television. Carter ordered an aborted rescue mission in which eight US troops died in a helicopter crash. Asked at a 2015 news conference about his biggest regret, Carter replied: “I wish I’d sent one more helicopter to get the hostages — and we would have rescued them and I would have been reelected.” – Nagging ‘weak’ attack – The Iran debacle led to attacks that Carter was “weak,” an image he would struggle to shake off as Republicans cast him as the archetypal contrast to their muscular brand of foreign policy. The former peanut farmer’s public persona did little to help, from a widely panned speech pleading for shared sacrifice to an incident that went the pre-internet version of viral in which Carter shooed away a confrontational rabbit from his fishing boat. Robert Strong, a professor at Washington and Lee University who wrote a book on Carter’s foreign policy, said the late president had been inept in public relations by allowing the “weak” label to stick. “The people who worked with Carter said exactly the opposite — he was stubborn, fiercely independent and anything but weak,” Strong said. “That doesn’t mean he was always right, but he wasn’t someone who held his finger in the wind allowing whatever the current opinion was to win.” Strong said that Carter defied his political advisors and even his wife Rosalynn by pushing quickly on the Panama Canal, convinced of the injustice of the 1903 treaty that gave the meddlesome United States the zone in perpetuity. “Every president says, ‘I don’t care about public opinion, I’ll really do what’s right,'” Strong said. “Most of the time when they say that, it’s not true. To a surprising extent with Carter, it was true.” – Carter and Iran – Carter, a devout Christian, vowed to elevate human rights after the cold realpolitik of Nixon and Henry Kissinger. Years after the fact, he could name political prisoners freed following his intervention in their cases, and took pride in coaxing the Soviet Union to let thousands of Jewish citizens emigrate. But the rights focus came to a head on Iran when Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi — a Western ally whose autocratic rule by decree brought economic and social modernization — faced growing discontent. Reflecting debate throughout the administration, Zbigniew Brzezinski, Carter’s more hawkish national security advisor, believed the shah should crush the protests — a time-tested model in the Middle East. Secretary of state Cyrus Vance, who would later quit in opposition to the ill-fated helicopter raid, wanted reforms by the shah. Stuart Eizenstat, a top adviser to Carter, acknowledged mistakes on Iran, which the president had called an “island of stability” on a New Year’s Eve visit a little more than a year before the revolution that ultimately saw the shah flee the country. But Eizenstat said Carter could not have known how much the shah had lost support or that he was to die from cancer within months. “It was the single worst intelligence failure in American history,” Eizenstat said in 2018 as he presented a book assessing Carter as a success. – Peacemaker legacy – Uniquely among modern US presidents, much of Carter’s legacy came after he left the White House. He won the Nobel Peace Prize more than two decades after his defeat at the polls. The Carter Center, which he established in his home state of Georgia, has championed democracy and global health, observing elections in dozens of countries and virtually eradicating guinea worm, a painful infectious parasite. Carter also took risks that few others of his stature would. He paid a landmark visit to North Korea in 1994, helping avert conflict, and infuriated Israel by asking if its treatment of the Palestinians constituted “apartheid.” But the accusations of weakness never went away. Conservative academic William Russell Mead, in a 2010 essay in Foreign Policy magazine, called on then-president Barack Obama to avoid “Carter Syndrome,” which he described as “weakness and indecision” and “incoherence and reversals.” Carter personally responded in a letter that listed accomplishments on the Camp David accords, China, the Soviet Union and human rights, while describing the fall of Iran’s shah as “obviously unpredictable.” “Although it is true that we did not become involved in military combat during my presidency, I do not consider this a sign of weakness or reason for apology,” he wrote. The Australian tail wagged on Sunday as number 10 and 11, Nathan Lyon and Scott Boland, respectively, shared an unbeaten 55-run-stand for the tenth wicket while surviving a Jasprit Bumrah (4 for 56) onslaught. That left the hosts 333 runs ahead after Day 4 of the fourth Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). ET Year-end Special Reads What kept India's stock market investors on toes in 2024? India's car race: How far EVs went in 2024 Investing in 2025: Six wealth management trends to watch out for Going into Day 5, all three results are possible, but Australia are favourites. The prospects of an Indian win remain but they were bright when Australia, after taking a 105-run first innings lead, were at a precarious 91 for 6 with Bumrah taking four wickets, Marnus Labuchagne batting on 43 and captain Pat Cummins joining join him. A 57-run partnership between the two resurrected the hosts’ innings. From a situation where Australia had scored 474 and India were struggling at 221-7, this is a dramatic turnaround. If it was a Nitish Reddy-Washington Sundar show on Day 3, it was a Bumrah masterclass on Day 4, ably assisted by a fired-up Mohammed Siraj (3 for 66). At the start of the Aussie innings, the local broadcasters were talking up 19-year-old opener Sam Konstas. Some said he had managed to get under Bumrah’s skin. If it was a test, the pacer won hands down. In fact, Konstas was given a real examination and could have been out ten times in the 18 balls he faced. Time and again Bumrah squared him up and beat the outside edge before getting one to come in sharply and disturbing the top of his middle stump. On the other end, Siraj had done his bit by picking up Steven Smith. It was excellent captaincy from Rohit Sharma in giving Bumrah the ball the moment Travis Head walked in at 80 for 3. Australia’s lefthanded talisman versus Bumrah has been the story of the series. and in the first innings, Head had been cleaned up for a duck. He wanted to make amends and bat India out of the game. A very interesting field was set up and Bumrah bowled the very first ball into Head’s body cramping him up. It was enough to induce the mistake and get caught by Reddy at square leg. Game on! Mitch Marsh was next to go—caught behind by Rishabh Pant as Bumrah toyed with the middle order, making them reel at 91 for 6 with the scalp of Alex Carey, bowled. After that, Siraj picked up Labuschagne (70) with Aussie score reading 148 for 7. The last three wickets since added 80. Going into the final day, India may have to bat out a maximum of 85 overs (no way can Australia bowl 95 overs with three pacers) and the changing room should be confident on a good batting wicket. There is low bounce but nothing alarming, Lyon-Boland partnership proved it. The game could be decided in the first 20 overs of the Indian innings. If the visitors are able to survive the new ball and get through the first 20 with just a wicket down, there is no reason why this match can’t be saved, or perhaps even won. A Test expected to be decided in the very last session is the best advertisement for the five-day game. Already 300,000 fans have watched the MCG Test and more are expected on Day 5, setting a new record for a Boxing Day Test. Indian fans among them would hope for a miracle but a 1-1 result before Sydney will be no less than a victory. WASHINGTON (AP) — The Supreme Court on Friday stepped into a major legal fight over the $8 billion a year the federal government spends to subsidize phone and internet services in schools, libraries and rural areas, in a new test of federal regulatory power. The justices will review an appellate ruling that struck down as unconstitutional the Universal Service Fund. The Federal Communications Commission collects money from telecommunications providers, who then pass the cost on to their customers. A conservative advocacy group, Consumer Research, challenged the practice. The justices had previously denied two appeals from Consumer Research after federal appeals courts upheld the program. But the full 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, among the nation’s most conservative, ruled 9-7 that the method of funding is unconstitutional. The Biden administration appealed that ruling, but the case probably won't be argued until late March. At that point, the Trump administration will be in place and it not clear whether it will take a different view of the issue. The 5th Circuit held that the funding method is unconstitutional because Congress has given too much authority to the FCC and the agency in turn has ceded too much power to a private entity. The last time the Supreme Court invoked what is known as the non-delegation doctrine to strike down a federal law was in 1935. But several conservative justices have suggested they are open to breathing new life into the legal doctrine.

Rule Change: The month of November is about to end and the last month of the year 2024, December, is going to bring with it many big changes (Rule Change From 1st December). The direct impact of these financial changes can be seen on every home and every pocket. These big changes to be implemented in the country with the first date of the new month include changes related to the revision of LPG gas cylinder prices to the credit card of the country’s largest bank SBI (SBI Credit Card Rule). First change – LPG cylinder prices Like every month, many rules are going to change on the first date of this month i.e. from 1 December 2024, which will have a direct impact on the pockets of the common people. On the first date of November, there was an increase in the price of 19 kg commercial LPG gas cylinder. Let us tell you that oil and gas distribution companies revise the prices on the first day of every month and this can be seen this time as well. It is expected that the 14 kg domestic gas cylinder (LPG Cylinder Price) which has been stable for a long time can be revised. Second change – Change in ATF prices Along with the prices of LPG cylinders, the price of air turbine fuel (ATF) is also revised by the oil distribution companies on the first of the month. After this, a change in the price of aviation fuel can also be seen on December 1. The change in this can have a direct impact on air passengers. Fourth change – You will have to wait for OTP The decision taken by TRAI to implement traceability rules related to commercial messages and OTP, earlier telecom companies had to implement it by 31 October, but after the demand of many companies, its deadline was extended to 31 November. Telecom companies can implement this rule of TRAI from 1 December. The purpose of this rule change is that all messages sent by telecom companies will be traceable, so that cases of phishing and spam can be stopped. Due to the new rules, customers may face delay in OTP delivery. Frontier Airlines, Wizz, Ryanair, Allegiant Air Democratizing in Travel; How Do Tourists Afford It?
Businessman and tech entrepreneur Rishi Parti has made headlines by purchasing an ultra-luxury penthouse in Gurugram’s DLF Camellias for a record ₹190 crore. Spanning 16,000 square feet, this high-end property is one of the most expensive apartment deals in India. The Camellias, located on the prestigious Golf Course Road in Gurugram, is known for offering state-of-the-art amenities and a lifestyle tailored for the ultra-wealthy. With this transaction, Gurugram continues to position itself as a major player in India’s luxury real estate market, competing with Mumbai and Bengaluru. Who is Rishi Parti? Rishi Parti, 47, is the founder and Managing Director of Info-x Software Technology Pvt Ltd, a company specializing in logistics and digital transformation solutions. Parti co-founded the Gurugram-based firm in 2001 at the age of 24. Over the years, Info-x has grown to serve clients across 15 countries, employing around 150 people. The company provides technology-driven logistics solutions for freight forwarders, shippers, and carriers. Parti is also an angel investor and serves as a director in multiple ventures, including Find My Stay Pvt Ltd and Integrator Ventures Pvt Ltd. Gurugram’s Luxury Market Boom This ₹190 crore deal underscores the rising prominence of Gurugram as a premium property destination. Golf Course Road, dubbed North India’s “billionaires’ row,” is emerging as a hub for ultra-luxury developments. Real estate experts compare it to Mumbai’s Altamount Road and Delhi’s Lutyens’ Zone, drawing parallels to global luxury hotspots like New York’s Billionaires’ Row. High-end projects such as DLF Camellias and DLF’s upcoming Dahlias are redefining the city’s real estate landscape. The demand for exclusive homes in Gurugram reflects a shift in preferences among India’s wealthy elite, who now see the region as a top-tier residential location.
